Auto-scaling in Java Cloud Service

Auto-scaling can now be configured in JCS to automatically scale a cluster in or out, based on CPU utilization, as explained in About Automatic Scaling in Using Oracle Java Cloud Service.

Oracle SOACS 16.3.1

Oracle announced the availability of 16.3.1 release of SOA Cloud Service (SOA CS).
In this release, Oracle SOA Suite version 12.2.1 is now supported.

Weblogic 12.2.1 Support

Since April release, Oracle Java Cloud Service offers support for WebLogic Server 12.2.1


When provisioning a Weblogic Server 12.2.1 service instance, you have the option to create a single domain partition.
A domain partition is a portion of a Weblogic domain that is dedicated to running application instances and related resources. You can add or remove domain partitions after you create the service instance, by using Fusion Middleware Control.

Add 2nd OTD Node

For transparent fail over of application requests, you can create a second load balancer VM node.

You can also add a second load balancer later after the creation of your Oracle Java Cloud Service instance.

JCS - Scale Up/Down

The scale Up/Down feature is now available for new JCS instances created !


You can scale an Oracle Java Cloud Service node to change its compute shape or to add storage.





Adding (or changing) compute and memory capacity as simple as picking a new compute shape from a dropdown list !

Storage scaling available for :
- new storage volume of desired size
- adding storage space to existing volume
